Samantha Symes works as a Consultant Psychologist for the Centre for Corporate Health Pty Ltd, providing rehabilitation services for several of the large insurers specialising in return to work with a new employer. Samantha’s extensive experience in recruitment, management roles and psychological positions has allowed her to quickly understand complex business scenarios and build rapport with clients. Her broad education and diverse background has provided her with effective professional communication skills. Samantha commenced her career in psychology in 2004, when she developed her own business, Educarta, providing career counselling for university students and private clients. While completing her psychology degree, Samantha worked in executive recruitment and in Asia Pacific’s largest usability organisational psychology firm, where she assisted with business development and account management. In 2009, Samantha worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant, providing assessment and counselling services for clients returning to work or new vocational careers. She also communicated regularly with third parties, in supporting client progress. In the past three years, Samantha has also started her own private practice; providing clinical support and vocational transitional support, and was the Talent Engagement Manager for a private organisation, supporting managing directors in recruitment of all management and consulting roles. Along with her most recent role, Samantha is currently working as a consultant at the Centre for Corporate Health Pty Ltd, specialising in return to work rehabilitation services.
Samantha has undertaken extensive education, consisting of four years psychotherapy training in Integrated Relational Psychotherapy with the Australian Centre for Integrative Studies, a two year Psychology Registration Program providing her with a Certificate in Psychological practice with the Australian College of Applied Psychology, and a Post-Graduate Diploma of Psychology from the University of Western Sydney. She completed a Graduate Diploma of Psychology from the University of Western Sydney in 2006, and a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing from Charles Sturt University in 1991.
