Alison’s career to date has primarily been within the workplace occupational rehabilitation industry, working both as a Rehabilitation Consultant and Psychologist.
Alison has worked as a Registered Psychologist providing rehabilitation services to workers with physical and psychological injuries. Alison is experienced in providing workplace rehabilitation services within a variety of frameworks including NSW WorkCover, Comcare and Life Insurance. Alison also has experience in assessment and reporting for the Corporate sector involving assessing employees wellbeing as well as providing independent opinion regarding an employee’s clinical diagnosis and strategies to assist with maintaining and promoting wellbeing through employment. Alison also provides counselling services to employees through the Employee Assistance Program.
In conjunction with working in the occupational rehabilitation industry Alison also currently works as a Counselling Psychologist in private practice. Providing services to adults presenting with a wide range of issues. Alison utilises treatment interventions from a variety of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Prior to working in the occupational rehabilitation industry, Alison has worked in organisational psychology, consisting of administration, interpretation and reporting in the area of psychological assessment for the purposes of recruitment as well as assisting in the roll out of assessment centres and training in online psychometric assessment tools.
Alison also has experience in volunteering as a telephone counsellor with Lifeline Australia.
Alison completed her undergraduate studies in a Bachelor of Psychology through the University of Western Sydney. Alison has been registered as a Psychologist since 2009.
